1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and protection of personal information obtained through the Reclaim Self mobile application (the "App"), operated by Eric Adler ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").
The App is a wellness and recovery application designed to support individuals in their cannabis cessation journey through journaling, progress tracking, goal setting, and mindfulness features.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Policy.
This Policy complies with applicable privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and applicable App Store Accountability Acts (TX, UT, LA).

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT (Aligned with Google Data Safety)
We collect data to provide and improve our services. We have categorized this data to align with app store transparency requirements.
3.1 Personal Information
Account Data: Name, email address, username, password (encrypted), and date of birth (for age verification).
Usage: Used for account management, authentication, and communication.
3.2 Health and Wellness Info
Data Collected: Substance use history, cessation progress logs, mental health reflections, emotional states/mood tracking, and wellness goals.
Protection: This is treated as Sensitive Personal Data under GDPR Article 9 and CPRA. We process this data only with your explicit consent and solely for the App's core wellness functionality.
Medical Disclaimer: The App is for general wellness support only and is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3.3 Photos and Videos / Files and Docs
User Content: Journal entries, goal descriptions, and any photos or files you voluntarily upload to your journal.
3.4 App Activity (Usage Data)
Data Collected: App interactions (screens viewed, features used), session duration, and interaction patterns.
Purpose: Analytics and product improvement.
3.5 App Info and Performance (Log Data)
Data Collected: Crash logs, diagnostics, stack traces, and launch time performance data.
Purpose: Stability, bug fixing, and security.
3.6 Device or Other Identifiers
Data Collected: Device type, operating system version, hardware model, IP address (approximate location only), and installation IDs.
4. APP TRACKING AND TRANSPARENCY (ATT)
4.1 Apple App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
We comply with Apple's ATT framework. We will not access your device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or track you across other apps and websites without your permission.
Request: You will see a system prompt asking for tracking permission.
If Granted: We use the IDFA for analytics to understand user acquisition. We do not sell this data.
If Denied: The App functions normally. We will not collect the IDFA.
Settings: You can change your preference at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
4.2 Android Advertising ID
On Android, we may collect the Advertising ID (AAID) for analytics. We do not use it for personalized advertising. You may opt out via Settings > Google > Ads.

6. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Strict Limitation on Health Data:
We do not use your health or wellness data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than providing the App's direct functionality. We do not sell your health data.
7. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
Service Providers: We share data with cloud providers and analytics partners who are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services we request.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or court order.
Business Transfers: If the Company is involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred with notice.
NO SALE: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
8. DATA RETENTION
Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted 30 days after account deletion request.
Analytics Data: Retained for 24 months, then anonymized or deleted.
Backups: Encrypted backups may be retained for up to 90 days for disaster recovery.
9. DATA SECURITY
We employ industry-standard security measures:
Encryption in Transit: All data is transmitted via HTTPS/TLS 1.2+.
Encryption at Rest: Data stored in the cloud is encrypted using AES-256 standards.
Access Control: Strict role-based access for administrative staff.
10. YOUR RIGHTS & IN-APP DELETION
10.1 In-App Account Deletion (Global)
You can delete your account and data directly within the App:
Go to Settings (Gear Icon).
Tap Account.
Select Delete Account.
Confirm your choice.
Result: Your account and all personal data will be permanently queued for deletion and removed within 30 days. Note: You must cancel any active subscriptions separately via the App Store or Google Play.
10.2 GDPR (EU/UK) & CCPA (California) Rights
Depending on your location, you have the right to:
Access the data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your data ("Right to be Forgotten").
Restrict processing.
Portability: Receive a copy of your data.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of the sale/sharing of personal info (we do not sell data).

11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Primary Audience: Adults (18+).
Minors (13-17): May use the App only with verifiable parental consent.
Under 13: Strict prohibition. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If discovered, such data is immediately deleted.
App Store Accountability Acts: We collect Date of Birth to enforce age restrictions in compliance with TX, UT, and LA state laws.
12. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Your data may be processed in the United States. For users in the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and adequacy decisions to ensure your data remains protected during transfer.
13. POLICY CHANGES
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified via the App or email 30 days prior to effectiveness. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

A. Strictly Essential (Required)
These technologies are necessary for the App to function. They cannot be switched off.

3. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROL
3.1 In-App Settings
You can manage your analytics preferences directly in the App:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Analytics.
Toggle "Allow Analytics" ON or OFF.
3.2 Device-Level Settings
iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking to block apps from tracking you.
Android: Go to Settings > Google > Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID.
